We had the Construction Marketing team bid and do the work on our dock at Smith Mountain Lake. It was a major renovation with a lot of different aspects that included electrical, woodworking, and cabinetry.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness
We had the ceiling installed, removed the boat slips, replaced the decking with Trex, boxed in the columns, lighting and fans installed and a bar with appliances and kegerator put in. They were one of the more costly bids but based on our interactions and seeing some of their other work, we had confidence in them and decided they would be the ones we went with.
Due to the COVID crisis, it took longer to get materials and crew in place than our original schedule, however, the work they did was fantastic. The decking required a lot of precise cuts and detail work and the project foreman, Jason, and his team did a great job. Of particular concern was the integration with both our irrigation system (the pump is in the attic of the dock) and the wireless system for the speakers and they offered creative solutions which have been well-implemented. Throughout the process they were very sensitive to avoid damaging landscaping and grass and always cleaned up after their work each day.
Any issues that came up were dealt with quickly and efficiently. For example, when materials were delayed and wouldn’t make a schedule deadline we set, the job foreman, Jason, jumped in a truck and drove to the plant in North Carolina where they were being stored and brought them back himself. I was pretty impressed with that. Jason played a key role in making sure everything not only met my expectations but exceeded his own high standards. I can attest to the fact that Construction Marketing made every effort to make sure the job was done the way we wanted it. I was happy with how things turned out and had them do another major renovation for us as well.

These guys are the real deal: they don’t over-promise, they share both “good” and “bad” news equally (there’s never a general contracting project without some unexpected items popping up!), and they do what they say. In fact, we didn’t even find a single cigarette butt on the job the entire 6-months of our project because they cleaned the site every day before quitting time.

After a beautiful addition to our home constructed by Construction Marketing, LLC. a couple of years ago, my wife and I decided we had a wasted space in our bathroom due to a large tub and un-needed wall. We met with Mike Bryant and discussed with him what we were looking for to meet our needs years down the road in retirement.......a bathroom that was senior ready yet attractive and comfortable.
Once Mike new what we were looking for he hit the nail on the head with a wonderful walk in shower with bench seat and modern accessories. It is fully tiled with two niches for toiletries, attractive towel/support bars, and lot of room for anything we may need as we get older. The dual hand held sprayer and rainhead shower unit are awesome and enjoyable to use.

Six years ago we bought a fixer upper. We had never dealt with contractors before, so we made sure to acquire 3 quotes for the different needs we had.
We hired painters, plumbers, HVAC and electricians, just to be able to move into the house. The experience was an education, and not always a positive one.
When we decided to have a master bedroom addition done, we knew we would have to hire a larger contractor. We obtained 4 quotes. Mike came to the house and walked through twice to make sure he had all the details. They were the only ones to have a detailed quote, walked it through with us and the pricing was exactly where it should have been. This was a huge bonus, due to our past experiences. The quality of work was amazing. No matter how much detail we had put into it, they thought of things we hadn’t, that would help in the long run. The subs were all pleasant, hardworking, detailed and best of all CLEAN! We never had trash left in the yard or the house. The finished product was amazing and I finally feel like I am at home!
When we decided to redo our kitchen and dining room, we didn’t get additional quotes, we hired CM! They changed out all the water lines in the house as well. I have my dream kitchen! Older homes have personalities of their own; things never go 100% as planned. If you accept this going into your project, the stress level goes down. However, having the right contractor to handle these challenges, dealing with errors by subs, understanding that work being done in your home is stressful; brings down the stress too and is worth every penny. CM is the contractor that can do this. Working with Ronnie, Dustin and Mike was a pleasure. We will choose them and recommend them time and time again.

My home has a back porch on the second story that was covered by a canvas awning.
There were two major problems with this, the awning would only last about five years and the pitch was not steep enough to keep the awning from sagging with accumulation of water after a hard rain.
I finally decided to replace the awning with a screened porch. I contacted three highly reputable builders for proposals. Each of these contractors had good ideas but Construction and Marketing LLC made me rethink the whole project. They suggested construction materials that were far better in both appearance as well as cosmetic upkeep. Their work was meticulous, their pricing reasonable and they followed my plans explicitly.
The whole experience was wonderful with none of the problems I had been warned about by friends who had done projects of this nature in the past. I would highly recommend these folks to anyone in the future and certainly use them myself in any future construction projects.

We hired Construction Marketing LLC to design and build a Trex screened porch and deck.
Mike did a excellent job in the design incorporating the vast majority of our wish list. His blueprints really made it easy to see what we would be getting. He gave great advice about Trex and it was reassuring to work with a company that had a lot of experience in Trex designs. The construction took about 12 weeks, with their crew and their subcontractors all being very professional and caused as little disruption to our house as could be expected.
We are very pleased with the finished product. The quality of the work is outstanding and it blends in nicely with the existing house. We are enjoying the screened room even more than we expected. Even on rainy days, we can can enjoy it as it stays very dry. Also, our dogs are enjoying the pet door they installed. We would definitely use them again for our remodeling projects and would recommend them to others without reservation.
It is not often that a contractor does the job on time, leaves a clean work area, shows up when promised and delivers quality workmanship. However, the folks at Construction Marketing did all those things and more.

In my particular case, we had a deck that was warped and was an eyesore. We got Mike’s name from a neighbor who had used his company to build a sunroom on the rear of his house. We live in a three story home in which stairs connect all floors. Our son Zachary has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair.
As he has grown bigger and we’ve gotten older, we knew we needed to make significant changes to the home to make it safe for Zachary and us. Carrying him up and down flights of stairs was becoming increasingly difficult and unsafe. It became apparent an elevator was the only solution. We requested ideas and bids from many different contractors but were most impressed with Construction Marketing, both in their professional approach and clear communication. Their bid was competitive and ideas helpful in blending the construction into our existing home. The project involved demolition of existing decks and screen porch, installation of the elevator and blending in a new deck and screened in porch, all of which are accessible.
We are very pleased with the quality work performed in all phases and the great communication around the project. Specifications were clear as well as the costs and most of all, there were no surprises. Any necessary changes were explained ahead of time and handled exceptionally well. They cleaned up every day, leaving a clean work area and each of the crew were kind & considerate.

This past year my mother moved in with us. She is family, and family takes care of one another. That is what we consider Ronnie and Mike--family.
The job that Ronnie and Mike did for us was a rather large undertaking to say the least. We live in an older, double-brick constructed home that required extra time and care to make sure the job was done right. After digging a new full basement, removing three internal walls and two partial external walls, attaching a new two-story addition, and adding on a new front porch and deck to the exterior of the home I can honestly say we couldn’t have asked for more.

We had Construction Marketing (CM) build a significant addition to our house about 5 or 6 years ago. We asked them back to work on a small project - a 10' X 16' screened in area with a sloped roof enclosing half of the original upper deck area.

I can’t say enough good things about Construction Marketing! Our house had three bedrooms and two baths, but that wasn’t enough for when our kids and grandkids visited. I had the idea to turn the existing large attached 2-car garage into new living space.
I searched around locally and online and CM had good ratings, so I contacted them. After our first meeting with Mike Bryant we were confident we wanted them to do the work. We ended up converting that garage space into two new bedrooms with closets, a full bath, a sitting room, and a utility room where we set up our laundry, freezer, new water heater and water treatment system. The new living spaces required a new septic system and we also added a new stand-alone 2-car garage and a paved circular driveway. Mike listened carefully to us during the planning stage and worked with us to refine the plan and cost. During the work, Ronnie and Dustin Booth kept things on schedule, kept us informed, and made tweaks to the plans as necessary along the way. All of the CM personnel and their subcontractors were first rate, and the coordination of work items between different groups and the County was never a problem. The quality of workmanship is excellent, and all the folks we dealt with were pleasant and knowledgeable. Minor finish-up items were handled quickly. Even the match of architecture, roofing, siding, paint, and grade-level for the new garage were perfect. We’re completely satisfied, and would recommend them to anyone considering similar work.

We had Construction Marketing do a small addition of a bathroom that is handicapped accessible with a roll in shower.
The project was started on Feb 15, 2017 and was supposed to go for 8 to 10 weeks. It was finished in August 2017. It would have been compete in July except we were out of town for a couple of weeks. We enjoy our new addition. The company was very easy to work with. We came in over budget because of a couple of changes that we made.

Construction Marketing LLC recently completed an addition to our house on Strawberry Mountain. The house has a great view of the Valley and beyond.
We decided to replace the original deck with a new structure that would take advantage of that view. The addition was quite comprehensive and included:
- A new patio on the ground level
- A new deck on the main level with a screened porch
- A new covered deck on the upper-level that included a fire pit
- An outdoor built-in grille and refrigerator
- Relocation of an existing hot tub
- And two new pergolas
We could not be more pleased with the results. Not only does the addition function as it was intended, it greatly enhanced the overall appearance of the house.

After coming to Mike and Ronnie after a stressful, unsuccessful year of working with another contractor on a full home remodel I cannot begin to express the professionalism and attention to detail we experienced with both Mike and Ronnie as well as the superb tradesman they use.
We have had them work on multiple projects for us, including small replacement of entry doors and all casings etc. to multiple bathroom remodels and projects in between. First they have come in on time and on budget on every project we have had them tackle. In 2011, I contracted with Mike and Ronnie with Construction Marketing to build a substantial addition to my Smith Mountain Lake vacation home.
After having the design drawings completed I obtained three competitive quotes from builders that had all come highly recommended from my residential designer. During the bidding process, it became clear to me that the company I should move forward with was Construction Marketing. Their specification package was extremely detailed and their price, competitive. What further set them apart was their ongoing commitment to prompt communications. This was of particular importance to me as I live and work two hours away from the lake.
Throughout the six month process , from permit to final inspection, that same level of communication persisted. Phone calls and e-mails were always returned quickly . Additionally, I received updates with photos almost daily. Routinely I would arrive late in the day or on weekends for an inspection . The sub contactors employed were top notch and very willing to accommodate the detailed plans. All did a good job of keeping the job site neat and orderly. If I requested a change to the original plan, it was clearly quoted ahead of time. Invoicing was presented in a clear manor and at the points indicated within the contract.

Last fall we contacted Construction Marketing LLC to knock a wall out between our kitchen and dining room, and coordinate the various contractors needed to install electric and do the finishing work.
What a wonderful experience it was working with this team from the beginning to end of this project. They took great care in minimizing the chaos of a wall removal, stayed on schedule while coordinating with the subcontractors, and were available to answer any and all questions. Their response to difference issues was timely and professional. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
In particular, Dustin, the project coordinator, met with us frequently to keep us in the loop on the progress of the project. We did have some issues with electric, which he dealt with immediately.
As for the quality of the work, we were very impressed with the attention to detail. The end product is beautiful! The original two rooms now flow into one room that we are enjoying immeasurably.

Construction Marketing has completed several projects for us. The first job completed was new siding on our house about ten years ago.
The thing that impressed me most was the clean up after the job was completed. His workers have replaced doors and a window. They have installed LG units upstairs for heating and cooling. The most recent job was replacing the decks on the house. We knew it would be costly so when we called Mike we told him that we wanted him to do the job because we knew it would be done correctly. The workmanship and perfectionism was evident the six weeks it took the job to be completed. Mike and his team have done a number of home projects for me, and the experience has always been positive.
Our house was built in the early 60's; everything was dated. We went to the Salem Home Show to look for contractors.
We had Construction Marketing build a 36 X 20 foot addition on to the side of our house.
This addition included a master bedroom, master bath, two walk-in closets and a laundry room with an extended dining room connecting the new addition to the existing house. A full basement for a much larger shop area below this new addition.
